Privacy Policy

Effective August 11, 2026

Lake County Pulse collects only the information needed to deliver the newsletter, review community submissions, respond to advertising inquiries, understand site use, and keep the service working.

Information you provide

Newsletter subscriptions are processed by our email service provider and may include your email address and edition preferences. Event submissions and correction reports may include private contact information used only for verification and follow-up. Advertising inquiries include business and contact information, campaign goals, and service areas.

How we use information

We use submitted information to provide requested services, verify local information, respond to inquiries, operate sponsorships, prevent abuse, and improve Lake County Pulse. Private contact details are not added to public event pages unless they are already public and appropriate to share.

Email, analytics, and advertising providers

Our email service provider supports newsletter delivery and email analytics. Google Analytics may provide website analytics and Meta may measure advertising conversions under the regional choices described below. Google Tag Manager controls optional browser tags. Stripe may process sponsorship payments under its own privacy terms.

Cookies and local storage

Essential storage supports security and site operation. Optional analytics storage helps us understand site use. Optional marketing storage measures whether advertisements lead to confirmed subscriptions. Campaign parameters may be stored for first-touch attribution and do not contain your email address.

Regional tracking defaults

For visitors detected in the United States, optional analytics and advertising measurement begin enabled and may be turned off at any time. For visitors outside the United States, or when country detection is unavailable, optional tracking remains off until the visitor allows it. We use the country code supplied by our hosting provider only to choose this default; Lake County Pulse does not use it to personalize sponsor selection.

Your choices

You may unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter, change optional website tracking from Cookie settings in the footer, or request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted by emailing hello@lakecountypulse.com. A supported Global Privacy Control signal keeps advertising measurement off. Turning optional tracking off updates Google consent, prevents future optional tags from receiving permission, removes site-accessible Google and Meta measurement cookies, and clears local campaign attribution when all optional tracking is disabled. Providers may retain information already received under their own retention policies.

Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and retain information only as long as it is needed for publication operations, recordkeeping, dispute handling, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

Updates

We may update this policy as the service and its providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
